A website on issues relating to women and gender in fisheries.

In most fishing communities, women play a key role in fisheries and in maintaining households and communities. Yet, they remain largely invisible, and their roles, unacknowledged. The International Collective in Support of Fishworkers (ICSF) website attempts to restore the balance. It turns the spotlight on women's roles and gender relations in fisheries: What developments have negative effects on women of fishing communities? What initiatives have communities and policymakers taken to ensure a ustainable, equitable and gender-just form of fisheries development? These and other issues are discussed on the site.
