CSB.net Newsletter (I)
This quarterly newsletter is sent out to all members of Civilsocietybuilding.net. If you wish to receive these updates in future, please join the network as a new member. ------------------------------- Dear partners, friends, colleagues,
As one of our last major activities of the year, Hivos completed a partnership with the Institute for Social Studies (ISS) towards a Civil Society Building Knowledge Network. We have been planning this partnership for a while now (as some of you may recall from the
Arusha meeting in June). The knowledge network will consist of four main components: a research component, a training component, an annual seminar and a web platform. The launch of the network in The Hague coincided with the launch of the web platform. The site aims to provide predominantly original content and research results from the institutes, their partners and network members, providing a stronger link between CSB practitioners and research. A beginning has been made, but the idea is that the content will come not just rom us (Hivos and ISS), but from network partners primarily, so that it becomes a web platform by and for CSB-professionals. We would like to invite you to participate in the network. Please visit http://www.civilsocietybuilding.net, or register at http://www.civilsocietybuilding.net/csb/user/register. By joining, you can add your own content, publications and comments, you can participate in discussions, and keep abreast of relevant developments in the context of civil society building. Although geography prevents us from duplicating the experience of the Arusha meeting earlier this year, we hope this initiative will provide an opportunity to continue networking, sharing ideas and deepening knowledge on CSB via this virtual platform. In the 1st half of 2005 Hivos and ISS will organise a public seminar related to CSB; we will keep you informed of the details. If you have any questions, comments or ideas, please don't hesitate to let us know! See press release
