Millennium Development Goals
The Millennium Development Goals reflect values of freedom, equality, solidarity, tolerance, non-violence, respect for nature and shared responsibility. They stem from the Millennium Summit of the United Nations. In September 2000, 189 Heads of States signed the Millennium Declaration and committed themselves to the 8 Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) that were subtracted out of the Declaration. The MDGs are worked out in several targets and indicators and have a deadline set for 2015.
